The Story of Carney's

In 1975, a family parked a real Union Pacific railroad car on the Sunset Strip and started serving burgers and chili dogs. Nearly 50 years later, not much has changed — and that's exactly the point.

Our Locations

Dining inside a train made the experience feel unique and fun, especially with the views along the Sunset Strip. The hot dog and burrito were both tasty, and the train wreck fries were a must try. This is a place we will absolutely visit again on our next trip to LA.

Carney’s on Sunset Boulevard offers classic L.A. indulgence in a nostalgic rail‑car setting paired with unapologetically messy, gloriously flavorful eats. This was such a fun place. It's inside old rail cars. The atmosphere is cute and quaint. I really enjoyed the food. The combo of food that I got (pictured) was perfect. Everyone was really nice and the food is hot and made to order. Highly recommend.

Finally got around to trying Carney's. It's such a cool cozy concept for a burger place and I loved every moment of it. The converted train car makes a perfect burger joint. And of course they have good burgers. I had a double cheeseburger but would love to go back again to try the chili burger as it seems to be what they are more known for. Quick service and friendly guys working there. Big fan!
